But nearly other seminar I have attended in the traffic exchange and business opportunity niches tells people to use the splash pages, the banners.

Look if you promote other peoples websites, then you are building their brand awareness, their list and you are fattening their bank account – not yours

A good traffic exchange with dynamite one time offer and compelling login offers may get 10 percent of their members to upgrade. You might get $3.50 to $5.00 per referral per month

That means if you want to make $500.00 per month by building downlines in traffic exchanges you would have to refer 1000 people

How many hundreds of thousands or millions of credits will take to get 1000 referrals?

It’s astronomical

And while the owners will gladly pay you for your 100 upgrades, they got 1000 people they can email offers to, they got their names stuck in hundreds of thousands people’s heads and they have 1000 members clicking on ads inside the member’s area

It doesn’t have to be that way

You don’t need to own a traffic exchange to make money with traffic exchanges. But you can make money by doing the things traffic exchange owners do

And the first thing to do is get the names and email addresses of your visitors. Then you  give them good reasons to visit your blog or pages inside your website like download pages

That way they will be clicking on your ads and your affiliate links instead of somebody elses’ affiliate links

I know it may seem overwhelming to you. Making money online is not easy and don’t let anybody tell you different. But people do make money when they are first starting out and they do it by building a list

Yes, signature files can drive targeted traffic to your sites when used effectively.

Basically, they are classified ads.

That means all the rules of 2 step advertising apply

1) Advertise something the forum members are interested in. You can’t make much money advertising hamburgers to vegetarians

2) You have to give people compelling reasons to click your links. HINT: use something free your ideal prospects wants right now! I call that BAIT.

3) Capture their name and email address and deliver the BAIT with your Autoresponder. I use Traffic Wave  and Aweber.

We having been holding these for a while, but people still keep on making the same old mistakes right from the start. Frankly, it’s frustrating because we keep on hammering….

Don’t get me wrong. Using social networking sites to drive traffic and create relationships is important but when you can right down to it, they are just other ways of driving traffic

And with everybody yapping about Twitter and Facebook, till my ears bleed, many newbies fall into the trap of they thinking if they drive even more traffic to some generic affiliate page they will finally get results.

WRONG

All the traffic in the world amounts to hill of beans if you don’t have a way of converting traffic into cold hard cash.

But really really gets my goat are all the people evangelizing about Twitter in conferences designed to help people make money with traffic exchanges

You are doing a great disservice to newbies by spreading the Twitter Gospel, especially to the few newbies who are taking the time to attend the conferences.

Sure, I know you may be bored when people keep going on about list building but the Affiliate Funnel Monday Conferences are for people who are just starting out.

New surfers want to learn how to make money with traffic exchanges. And it’s hard enough to convey the importance of promoting yourself first without people going on and on about how they use Twitter to get thousands of followers.

And you should know by now traffic exchanges are merely places where you fill your funnel with surfers.

The newbies need to know this too. Its the reason there are conferences in the first place.
